One search on the psychology of color will make your head spin. When branding, thinking about color in terms of ‘fit’ is the right approach.
CASE STUDY: CAPITOL AREA REDEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION
THE STREETS R BEAUTIFUL
FUEL was asked to design the new R Street Historic District entrance archway at the corner of 10th and R Streets in downtown Sacramento.
Starting with some existing power poles that dated back to the 1940s as an inspiration, FUEL took the Corridor’s existing logo and the architect’s master plan and combined it with feedback from the corridor stakeholders to create an entrance archway that puts R Street back on the map.
Creating a Branded CityScape
Along with the main entrance archway, FUEL created a sign system that could grow with the Corridor. This allows the city to place single branded pylons strategically to remind people that they are in the most happening place in Sacramento.
The archway itself required consultation with the Preservation Society, City officials, the general contractor and sign fabricator to ensure it was fabricated correctly and met the original design vision.
